What are best practices for agents to find new business?

If you are a new agent, or an experienced agent looking to expand your book of business, what are the best ways to go about this? This is the most-often asked question I get. We are all looking to maintain our current clients and get new business. Let's start a discussion regarding techniques you can start using TODAY to do this. Here are some ideas:1. Keep in touch with your current and past clients on a regular basis. Make sure the end of their trip is not the end of your relationship! Call or email them to ask how they are, how their families are, what exciting things they did this past summer, what travel may be in their future. Remind them you are a travel expert and can help them with their next trip(s). Keep your database current with important occasions: birthdays, anniversaries, kids' graduations, etc and contact them to wish them well. You don't have to sell them something each time you get in touch. Just stay connected and nurture the relationship.2. Ask for referrals. Were…See More

Bora Bora information

We have clients going to Bora Bora for their honeymoon.  They have 2 questions.  Is there a company that does excursions?  What is the price range of eating out there?  Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks See More

Agents, I have been getting several questions regarding this, since other TOs sent out info on it the other day. All Hotels in the Riviera Maya area have added a 20 peso, per room, per night tax that will be collected at the hotel (20 pesos = less than $2.00). We have listed this in our “pop ups” and the info should be added to the edocs/paper docs, if not already added. A notification was sent to current and future bookings. AmResorts Hotels will be absorbing this cost, so they will not be notified.See More

any info on these hotels

I am very selective about hotels and other services I offer to clients and if they aren't on my provider list, usually I will say it's not someone I work with.In two cases, one in Rome and one in Athens, a client came up with a hotel that they found online but neither are on any of my vendor lists.  In Athens, Met34 was one I didn't find elsewhere and Rome, First Luxury Art Hotel.  Does anyone know anything about either property?  See More

Family Resort in U.S.

Does anyone know of a good summer family resort - anywhere, really, in the U.S., but on the level of a Four Seasons or Fairmont, etc.  I am asking because a lot of resorts have more local clientele.  I can check the chains, but it's harder to know even how to look for local resorts. Family wants condo/villa style accommodations in a resort/hotel setting.  I can check all that, but am looking for anyone's favorite summer getaway.  Thank you.See More
