How do you handle uncollected commissions?

Hello fellow travel professionals. I apologize for using this format to air my problems but I'm so sad and disappointed that I need some sort of place to release my sorrow over losing a dear friend. I'm primarily a corporate agent that specializes in business and first class travel so when I get a "leisure" request from one of my clients, of course I accept although its not my forte, I had a cruise request in April for 2 suites on RCCL. A dear friend, who only books cruises was contacted to help. This is a very well known cruise person...his name is all over the internet in regard to travel but I will not stoop so low as to mention his name. He did book the cruise for me and advised that his company was paid 17% so I would receive 10% and they would retain the 7%. Fine with me.Its now 5 months since my clients sailed.
